EXPLANATION OF POSITION IN DRAW

DESCRIPTION

Each drawn number occupies a unique position. Analyzing draws by position involves examining the frequency and patterns of numbers based on their order of appearance—for example, which numbers are most frequently drawn as the first number, second number, and so on.

Why Positional Analysis Matters?

Helps Identify Patterns: Understanding which numbers typically appear in which positions can refine number selection strategies.

Avoids Unlikely Picks: Knowing that certain numbers rarely appear in a specific position prevents unrealistic selections.

Improves Strategic Play: Some lottery strategies involve choosing numbers that are more likely to appear in their usual positions.
Analyzing lottery draws by position provides insight into how numbers behave within a draw sequence.
Recognizing these patterns can help in making more informed lottery choices

NUMBERS CHOOSING ADVICE

Some numbers may frequently appear in certain positions, while others may never appear in specific spots.
Some numbers can only appear in a certain position. For example, if the lowest possible number in the draw is 1, it will always be in the first position when drawn.
Some numbers might appear in multiple positions but will never be drawn in certain spots. For instance, the number 3 might often be drawn as the 1st or 2nd number but never as the last number in a five-number draw.
Some numbers can appear in multiple positions without restriction. A number like 15 might be drawn anywhere from 1st to 5th position

You can exclude specific numbers from appearing in certain positions when generating tickets or filtering wheel system

Each game draw is unique, and the number position varies every time.
Observing how often these numbers are drawn on certain positions can help decide to create better tickets.

FILTERING NUMBER WITH FILTER: BY POSITION IN DRAW

WHAT THIS FILTER IS FOR

When filtering a wheel system, you can use this filter to exclude combinations that have specific numbers in certain positions or within a range of positions.

When generating tickets, you can use it to place numbers in fixed positions or within a range of positions in the ticket numbers.

HOW TO ADD FILTER

On the Filters page select the Add Filter tab, choose Position in Draw main filters from the list on the left side of page.
Select which game Number you want from the list on the right side of page.

Click the Add Filter button located on the toolbar. Selected filter will be added to your Game Filters list.
If you want to add more than one filter, select more filters using CTRL+A keys to select them all or hold CTRL key and select filters with mouse.

For more detailed information about filters page please see Filters Interface topic

HOW TO SET FILTER PROPERTIES

After adding the filter, you can go to the Game Filters page in the same Filters window to edit the filter properties.

The added filter will be located under the Position in Draw group of all filters, with its value in the Property cell set to the game number you evaluate.

Use

If selected, the filter will be used to apply filtering.

Action

Sets the filter action applied by the filter to determine the final outcome when filter's condition is met.

You can choose to accept or reject numbers

Select your preferred option from the drop-down menu in the Action column.

- When you choose Accept action then:

The generated ticket include the specified game number in the position(s) set in the Filter Condition Options under the Value or Range cell.

The wheel system will only accept combinations that include the specified game number in the position(s) set in the Filter Condition Options under the Value or Range cell.

- When you choose Reject action then:

The generated ticket will not include the specified game number in the position(s) set in the Filter Condition Options under the Value or Range cell.

The filter will reject wheel system combinations that include the specified game number in the position(s) set in the Filter Condition

Options under the Value or Range cell.

Property

Sets the analyzed game number, initially is set to the number which you choose when adding filter.

You can modify the filter property to choose a different number for analysis by either using the spin edit control or typing the number directly into the property cell.

Number Main Type

Sets the filter for Number Main Type, allowing you to filter number by its type.

You can select the type of number you want to filter by from the drop-down menu.

If the main type is set to ALL, the game number is always included regardless of its type.

If the main type is set to a specific type, the game number is included only if its type matches the number on the game layout.

Number Subtype

Sets the filter for Number Subtype, allowing you to filter number by its type.

You can select the type of number you want to filter by from the drop-down menu.

If the main type is set to ALL, the game number is always included regardless of its sub type.

If the main type is set to a specific type, the game number is included only if its sub type matches the number on the game layout.

Please refer to the Filters - Types of Numbers topic for more information about filtering and analyzing numbers by their type.

Value

Sets the condition value for the filter to be satisfied.

You can set the fixed position of a number within generated ticket numbers or its position in the wheel system combinations.

Range

You can define the range of positions for a number within generated ticket numbers or its placement in wheel system combinations.

For example, if you set the range to 1-3, the number can appear in any position from the 1st to the 3rd within the generated ticket.

When filtering the wheel system, combinations will be accepted or rejected based on whether the number falls within the specified positions.

Condition

Sets the filter condition to determine how the filter will match the number position

You can select a filter condition from drop-down list combo box one of the following conditions:

Equals Filter Value

A. For Tickets

Requires that a specific number must appear exactly at the defined position within a ticket.

B. For Wheel System

Locks a number into a fixed position across all wheel combinations, ensuring that the number always appears at the defined slot.

Higher than Filter Value

A. For Tickets

Accepts tickets only if the specific number appears at a position higher (further right) than the one defined in the filter Value cell.

B. For Wheel System

Constrains the wheel to place a specific number only in positions that are after (higher than) the defined position index, allowing more flexibility beyond a strict placement.

Lower than Filter Value

A. For Tickets

Accepts tickets only if the specific number appears at a position lower (further left) than the one specified.

B. For Wheel System

Limits the wheel so that the selected number can appear only in earlier (lower index) positions than the one specified in the filter.

Range of Values

A. For Tickets

Specifies a position range in which a number must appear to be valid.

B. For Wheel System

Restricts number placement within a defined range of positions during wheel generation, ensuring better layout control for patterns and balance.

EXAMPLE

In the following settings, game number 8 will be used as an example to demonstrate the application of various filter conditions:

Equals Filter Value

A. For Tickets

If the filter's Value cell is set to position 3, only tickets where number 8 appears in the 3rd position are generated.

B. For Wheel System

Locks a number into a fixed position across all wheel-generated combinations, ensuring that the number always appears at the defined slot.

Higher than Filter Value

A. For Tickets

Accepts tickets only if the specific number appears at a position higher (further right) than the one defined in the filter.

If number 8 is set with this condition to Value = 3, only those combinations that have number 8 in position 4 or later.

B. For Wheel System

If number 8 is set with this condition to Value = 3, tickets will have number 8 appears in position 4 or later are accepted or  rejected

Lower than Filter Value

A. For Tickets

Accepts tickets only if the specific number appears at a position lower (further left) than the one specified.
If number 8 is set with this condition to Value = 3, tickets will have number 8 appear in position 1 or 2.

B. For Wheel System

If number 8 is set with this condition to Value = 3, only those combinations that have number 8 in position 1 or 2 are accepted or  rejected

Range of Values

A. For Tickets

Specifies a position range in which a number must appear to be valid.

If number 8 must be between positions 2 and 5, tickets will have that number in position 2,3,4,5.

B. For Wheel System

If number 8 must be between positions 2 and 5, only those combinations that have number 8 in position 2,3,4,5 are accepted or  rejected

The Reject action with the Condition set to Range of Values provides better results, offering flexibility and a more fail-safe approach.

On the other hand, using the Accept action with the strictly Equals filter value condition assumes you know exactly which numbers will be drawn - something we wish you could predict!

Using the Accept action with other conditions is more versatile and can be applied when you aim to target specific number position configurations based on your expertise and insights.

VISUAL ANALYSIS: BY POSITION IN DRAW

HOW TO ANALYZE

Select from the Visual Analyser menu select:

Numbers > Position in Draw > Number ?
The result of analysis is shown on a Visual Analyser's screen

DIAGRAMS INTERPRETATION

The diagrams will display the analyzed occurrences of numbers at specific positions in the drawings.

The first diagram illustrates if a number appears as the first number in a drawing, while the following diagrams respectively show if the number was drawn in positions 2, 3, 4, and so on.

Please see also Analysis Screen topic for more info on how to interpret diagrams

CONCLUSION

By observing diagrams, you can analyze how numbers are placed in their positions.

For example, as shown in the picture above, the number 5 almost never appears in position 3 across all drawings.

You can apply a filter to exclude the number 5 from appearing in position 3 when generating tickets or filtering a wheel system. This will reduce the wheel combinations and help create better tickets.
